2 years ago I had contact Pamela Hartigan to do a seminar in Singapore. Today as I checked out the Oxford Said Business School, it talks about memories. Sadness fills me.....that Singapore would never get to see her. To Pamela's family and friends, I share your sorrows. Deepest sympathies... Pamela is a wonderful educator, living example of social entrepreneurship and humility. She would be much missed to many of us.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one in death is one of the most painful experiences we can go through, but it can be comforting to know that humans were never meant to endure such pain. In fact, we were never meant to die. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says that God “put eternity in [our] heart.” God also promises us in Psalms 37: 29 that “the righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it.” It's nice to know that we won't have to endure such tragedy and suffering for much longer. A website that I find comforting is jw.org. It's a Bible-based website that talks about all the promises that God has for the future. I hope it can provide some light during this difficult time.

My deepest sympathies and condolences to Pamela's family and colleagues. She was a pioneer and leader in the development of the social entrepreneurship movement, and her contributions endure.

So very sorry for the loss of your loved one Pamela Hartigan such a beautiful woman. However, because there is a resurrection, I sincerely hope your sorrow will not be unrelenting. Rather, you can draw close to God in prayer, and the Bible promises that “he himself will sustain you.”—Psalm 55:22.

I've been reluctant to write because the loss of Pamela seems too overwhelming to bear. She was a force of nature and the sun glimmers just a bit less brightly with her passing. I met Pamela back in the 1990s when she led the gender office at PAHO. She helped design and lead a multi-county effort to fund programmes to reduce violence against women in Latin America. She invited me to assist as an outside "expert" and never missed an opportunity to acknowledge publicly my contributions to the programme---a rare thing in my experience among leaders embedded in large organisations.

We became fast friends and I followed her career as she went on to influence and help shape so many other areas of social justice work.

I was suppose to get together with Pamela for the first weekend in May of this year, but I screwed up the dates in my calendar. I knew she had been battling cancer but the last time we spoke she insisted she was doing fine. I so regret that I didn't do more to rearrange my schedule so we could spend time together. I had no idea that time was so precious.

I was forever inspired by Pamela's energy, passion, and strategic vision. She will be sorely missed by us all.
