Alfonso Perez Jr., 84, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Christus Santa Rosa-Westover Hills.

Alfonso was born September 2, 1931 and raised by his parents Alfonso Sr. & Sarah (Sanchez) Perez in San Antonio. He is survived in death by his wife Rosario of 33 years; sons, Mark, Donald (Sandra), Joseph Evans; daughters, Lisa Marie, Ruby Ann, step-daughters Patricia, Lisa Deanna, Stephanie; 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

After retiring from the United States Army after 22 years, Alfonso continued his public service by working as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service.  Alfonso took pride in his route, delivering the daily mail and the many friendships made with the area residents and businesses in the Laurel Heights Community.

He will be remembered for his off the wall jokes, political conversations and always bringing a watermelon when he came knocking at your door.
