Denise Lawrence (Bankston)

Denise M. Lawrence, 58, of Kingwood, TX, passed away on August 23, 2016 at home after a short illness.

Denise was born November 26, 1957 in Groves, TX to Connie Broussard Coy & Bill Bankston.

She attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, TX & later moved to Houston where she became a Cosmetologist & enjoyed living in Montrose with her kitty Frodo until a few years ago when she moved to Kingwood. A very special Thank You to Ken Robles for taking care of her till the end.

She is survived by her mother & step-father, Connie & Tony Coy of Dayton, TX: father Bill Bankston of Beaumont, TX: brother Jeffry (Susan) Bankston of Houston, TX: nephew Justin Bankston, great-nephew Wesley Bankston & great-niece Emery Janik all of Dayton, TX.

Denise was preceded in death by her grandparents & her step-mother Beverly Bankston.

A Memorial Service to Celebrate her life will be held on Sat Sept 10th at 5pm at Tallow Wood Clubhouse 10220 Appleridge Dr, Houston, TX 77070.

Denise was such a sweet friend of mine , she helped me take care of my hair . She also put keartin extentions in my hair and helped me feel beautiful again after I messed up my hair. I havent found anyone to do them extentions that she introduced to me . She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Love you Denise

Thank you, Susan. I loved Denise very much. Her homes were always a welcoming and cozy sanctuary. We shared many good times together on Hawthorne Street at her apartments and condo. I spoke to her on the phone two or three weeks before she passed away. I still can't believe she's gone. She was loved by many. <3

I was a child when I met Denise. In a sea of older strangers, at Bill's house, at a Christmas party. She and her Uncle Dave treated me like a real person, who had interesting things to say and made me feel part of the family. For that, I will be forever grateful. She will be missed.
