The following is from a dear friend of Mary Jo's in the Dominican Republic:
Mary Jo was a member of our Monday afternoon bridge group in Bonao in the Dominican Republic. We all had children going to Centro Educacional in our townsite of many different nationalities. We shared our smiles and our tears. We were each other's families in a tropical island far from our birth land and immediate family. Consequently we celebrated holidays and cultures from many lands Lots of chuckles and memories to reflect upon. I remember Mary Jo and her family with fond memories. Rest in peace.

I miss my aunt Mary Jo. She was a wonderful person and always made me feel loved. I admired her for her dedication to her family and tirelessly planning and promoting the annual Kuykendall Easter picnics. She was an excellent host and always will be remembered for the great games at her many awesome get togethers! I'll always cherish the memories of the summer we spent with the Clardys in the Dominican Republic. Red snapper on Sosua beach and snorkeling with my cousins. We really enjoyed the party for Nancy and getting to see all the family these last few months. She'll always be in our hearts with many fond memories. We can still see Mary Jo's strength in her family. We hope and pray they will remain strong. We love her and miss her, Terry and Nancy Morris
