Where to begin? Duke is a one of a kind best friend. He is incredibly sweet and gentle with small animals and children like his little sister Lola, a chihuahua, but is also game for big boy adventures. Duke comes with me on big hikes, attempts to climb trees more often than I would care to admit, and is up for a paddleboard on the lake. He loves to swim, but hates baths, he gets fired up on playgrounds and will go down slides on his own. Coming home from work and being greeted by his wiggling bum and smiling face is the greatest feeling and melts away any stress or worry. Even though he can't understand a lick of what I'm saying, he cocks his head side to side and tries his best to comprehend and just hopes whatever is coming out of my mouth ends with "walk" or "treat". A little over 5 years ago, I drove 2 hours North to meet the rescue organization who had Duke to see if Duke was a good for me and vice versa, and little did I know how much of an impact this lil' gaffer would have in making me happy. Duke really is a perfect dog for me. I might have a slightly biased opinion Duke is truly the greatest dog, and I am lucky we found each other a little over 5 years ago.
