Who are some of VCS's best teachers, through the years?

Lauren Zalaznick
It was so great when Dale had a teacher that Ada and/or Lucy did, too -- Linda was fantastic at seeing each kid for who they are as individuals but bringing some of the same great teaching techniques to all! Luis! Ruben! Very special relationships for Dale...But, also when a new teacher came to VCS for the first time, someone like Richard (English, advisory) or Melissa (Latin), it was amazing to see them get to know Dale for who he was, and bring out the absolute best in him as a student and human being. We're really glad that Dale got to know the very last of the "old guard" -- RON! who had been at VCS for 25 years when Ada had him, 30+ by the time he retired after Dale's 7th grade year...

Mallory and Renee have both supported me and inspired me throughout my time at VCS. Mallory introduced the world of poetry and reading to me like I have never seen it before. She took me to poetry reading which shows how devoted she was to her students. Renee got me interested in CAFE (cultural awareness for everyone) now it is my elective and I go to the club. She has taught me about the value of diversity and many current events. Mallory and Renee have both been leaders in the Girls Affinity Group that we started this year. They have taught us what feminism really is and why we need to be active in female rights. I can not thank them enough for everything they have done.

Richard, Emma and Mallory by far. Richard was just awesome and made school fun. Classes with him were always exciting. Emma got me interested in the world of science and got me back into birdwatching. I also had a very memorable time in biodiversity club. Then Mallory introduced me to the beautiful world of politics.
But we should not forget about the amazing substitute teachers. Meg and Sheniqua were definitely the best subs.

Helen was such a great advisor, math teacher and mandarin teacher. She taught me so much and she made sure I knew that after I left her advisory I could still talk to her about anything. I was so excited when Richard was my teacher again this year because of everything in 6th grade. Both years I learned so much, had great projects, while still having so much fun. Jenny and Grace were great lower school teachers and I had so much fun in their classes.

My favorite teachers were Lynn and Melissa. I learned a lot from them and there classes were a lot of fun.

Out of all the teachers throughout the years, I could probably only think of two I disliked. VCS has teachers that are passonate, engaging, and overall fun. Some examples include Emma, Richard, Harry, Sefina, Ben, Melissa, and many others.

Emma was definitely one of my favorite teachers. She introduced me to so many new things and I'll never forget the great classes and chats I've had with her.
