Abbey and Gloria moved into 10 Henhawk Road in the summer of '70. The house cost $72,500, and was in one of the poshest areas of Great Neck, Kings Point. However, whatever their downpayment vs. mortgage was, it was most all the cash our parents had. On top of that, the house needed a ton of work. It would be many years before we fully renovated and decorated this house where we would live for the next 30 years.

Steve-- the bocce court was not home-made! ;-) Mr. Tomassi, from Italy, knew exactly what we needed and delivered the goods...in heavily accented English, complete with stories from The Old Country.

I spent many hours there. Was most delighted by the home-made bocci ball court. And of course your dad was always SO friendly and welcoming to me, always asking questions about what I was up to, never making me feel like the annoying teen pest that I was
  • 50th Wedding Anniversary!

A fabulous dinner & dancing evening, at the top of the D&D building, where Gloria spent her second career as a decorator. A terribly intense summer storm of thunder and lightening and driving rain made it quite a challenge for folks to get there. Most everyone did! 6 grandkids, from 6 months to 10 years old, made it extra special.

We designed great packaging for the wrapping to a fantastic end-of-party give-away CD of all their favorite tunes courtesy of Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks...a CD...how quaint!
