Fran was an incredible force in the universe. She made a huge impact with her commitment, her energy, her creativity, her joy and her hard work. Her efforts made positive impacts on thousands of people in NYC and across the nation.
Her leadership at the NHSNYC and in the national NeighborWorks Network helped position those organizations as national leaders in helping low and moderate income people become homeowners.
On a personal basis, Fran was a mentor, friend and guide. She helped me and many others find fulfilling paths in the community development world. Her quick smile and wit always helped light up a room -- even during dark times. She was able to conceptualize big ideas and bring them to life.
I'm saddened by Fran's passing, but know that her legacy will live on among many friends and colleagues across the country. I can think of no higher praise than to note, as Moe does, that Fran literally changed the world.

I am sorry to hear of Fran's passing. I remember that she was the first person to welcome me to Brooklyn so many years a go. She will be missed.
