This is the only known picture of the family before first husband Henry left. He wouldn't see his children again until they were fully grown, in their twenties.

Here is a lovely snapshot of Henrietta, Evelyn, and Jesse on the tennis court, probably in Florida. Henrietta took Jesse there after his surgery post a mastoid infection.
