Luis Vielma, 22, worked as a ride attendant at Universal Orlando. Vielma operated several rides at the theme park, most recently Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, tweeted a photo of Vielma along with her condolences.
Olga Glomba worked with Vielma at Universal.
“He was a true friend,” she said. “A funny, sweet, nerdy guy without a mean side. He just wanted to make people smile.”
Josh Boesch, who also worked with Vielma at the theme park, remembered him as an approachable, friendly face.
‘He was always a friend you could call,” Boesch said. “He was always open and available.
Jose Vielma, Luis' father, said his son was active in the community and a friend to all he met.
"He was so kind," Jose said. "He played football and went to church."
Romper.com reported that Vielma would have been thrilled by JK Rowling's tweet:
"Many people who knew Vielma responded to Rowling with their own comments, describing him as a kind, funny, sweet young man. Others shared how much he enjoyed working at the Harry Potter-themed attraction, and how well-liked he was by his coworkers, and even guests who could remember meeting him during their visits. Some friends even commented on how honored Vielma would have been to know that Rowling had mentioned him like that, with one friend writing, "@jkrowling this would blow his mind. thank you so much."
