LifeStory

Gregory (Greg) Brooks

By Cats Exclusive, Inc

Greg was one special person.  He had been a volunteer at our facility as long as we can remember.  He would come into the adoption center and spread his blanket on the floor then you could see all cats flowing to him for affection.

He had a gift for communicating with cats as well. We had some cases of cats not adapting to live in the center (hiding, hissing, fighting). Greg would come in and take the most difficult cats to his blanket and start his "magic"; soon after the cats became more social and of course, every time Greg would show up, they would run to him.

At our Cat Shows, he was a fixture in his "Greg's Tent"; a place that would give people the opportunity to come in and meet some of the older cats that needed a home.

Greg also had his own Pet-Sitting business. He was very liked and trusted by the pet community in South Florida. His demeanor (soft-spoken, gentle, and affectionate to animals) made him a special person. Cats Exclusive, Inc. miss him very much.

We want to dedicate this excerpt of the poem "The Rainbow Bridge" to our friend, Greg.

May he rest in peace.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...."
I knew Greg in a chat room. He was loved there for his wit and caring way. He is dearly missed. I guess he was needed to help tend the kitties in Heaven. I am very grateful for knowing him!
