Don Quixote was Ron's archetype. His home was filled with art and statues of the "Don". Cervantes said, "The man who fights for his ideals is the man who is alive." That sums Ronne up pretty well.

Ronne Bruce Roope

Ronne Bruce Roope passed away peacefully Saturday, November 5, 2016. He was loved and cared for by his best friends Laurie Scott and Eric Jennings.

Ronne moved to Sedona in 1984 and in his 32 years here he touched many.   He was the first executive director of Jazz On The Rocks, executive Director of The Adult Community Center, director and choreographer of dancing grannies in Sedona, Cottonwood and Camp Verde.  He won the state award in Toastmasters, got his Masters in Educational Leadership at Nau, started two Charter Schools, taught English and Speech at Yavapai College  for many years resulting in The Teacher of The Year Award several times. 

Ronne was the Archivist for The Jerome Historical Society which lead to his creating The Jerome Ghost Tours. Ronne loved his dogs and enjoyed his bridge groups and poker groups. He was innovative, creative, talented, caring, and a genuine gentleman.  He was also a child prodigy, dancing on Broadway and in the movies as a child.  Danny Kaye was a teacher he loved and learned from.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
