Ramona Lynn Buquet - Obituary

Ramona Lynn Buquet (Mona), age 61, passed from this life into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. She died of heart failure at her home in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.  Ramona was born in Denver, Colorado, on September 29, 1955, to Richard and Eileen Buquet. She was the first of 6 children. Mona grew up in Wildwood and Grayslake, Illinois, attended St. Gilberts parochial school, and graduated from Grayslake Community High School in 1973. She married and had 6 children, 3 sons and 3 daughters.  She worked part-time for the U.S. Post Office.

Ramona was an accomplished artist and loved to express her talent through sketches, drawings, paintings and crafts. Mona was also a musician who played the piano beautifully and wrote poetry. She was a selfless person always caring for others above herself, giving to others even in times when she was in need. Her genuine love and kindness was experienced by all who knew her, as she was always there for her family and friends, going above and beyond to help others know how much she valued them. For over 10 years Ramona served the local chapter of AA in Sun Prairie 4 days each week by opening Forester Hall, making the coffee, preparing the meeting space, etc. for the many meetings that encouraged and gave hope to those struggling with addiction. Mona was an avid gardener, loved animals, nature, and all of God’s creation with the exception of snakes and reptiles. Ramona celebrated life always looking for the positive even in the midst of pain and hardship.

Ramona is survived by her mother, Eileen Kendall of Grayslake, Illinois , father Richard Buquet of Stillman Valley Illinois, sisters Kathy Buquet of Lake Villa, Illinois, Lory Porter of Wadsworth, Ill., Karen Brockman of Franklin, Wisc., and brother Richard Buquet II of McKinney, Texas. Mona is also survived by her 6 children, Cassandra, Alicia, James, Thomas, Timothy and Annalee, of Wisconsin and Illinois, and more than a dozen grandchildren, including Kassandra, Bianca, Gino, DiAngelo,  Audriana, Victoria, Nicholas, Alexis, James, and Amber.  Ramona was preceded in death by her brother Richard Buquet Jr., and her granddaughter Keyla.
