It is with shock and profound sadness that we advise of the death of our colleague and friend, Gary Chris. Gary was on business travel in Australia when he passed away on Saturday, December 3rd (Australia time).
An employee of Heath Tecna for over thirty years, Gary started his career as a design engineer. As a result of his unparalleled work ethic, his high degree of knowledge, his entrepreneurial mindset, and his unwavering commitment to our customers, he held increasingly responsible positions as on site liaison engineer, customer support manager, sales manager, and Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
While Gary’s business acumen was truly impressive, it was his incredible way of connecting with people that set him apart. It is a rare thing when a person can work as hard as Gary did and still be considered a friend to all he came in contact with. He was universally admired and respected, and he managed to develop lasting relationships with countless people the whole world over. He was exceedingly generous in sharing his knowledge, he was the first to give credit to others, he would move mountains to help his customers and co-workers, and he never missed an opportunity to laugh. Work mattered a great deal to Gary…but people mattered even more.
This is Gary’s legacy to all of us who were lucky enough to know him. For all he accomplished in his career, the most important thing he showed us is that we are in this together. Gary knew that any challenges we face are best met with a positive spirit of partnership and teamwork, and that any successes we have are meant to be celebrated and shared. We are firmly committed to carrying on in that same spirit, knowing that this is the best way we can honor Gary and the immeasurable impact he had on us all.
