James was so proud of this children's book that he published, "Hope the Wonder Chicken". Whenever a college or a friend was expecting, he'd wrap up a copy and ensure that they truly had a personalized baby gift from James. I've scanned it in so that everyone can enjoy...

Yes I prayed regularly for the last two years.
I prayed that James' doctors were caring, clever, and extremely knowledgeable.
I prayed that God would hold James and Brent in his arms and that they would feel his love
I prayed that James and Brent would find the strength they needed to get through the difficult times ahead.
It seems so sad that two young men who had promising careers, enjoyed life and had found love have been torn apart
Almost nineteen years ago I lost someone I loved very much.
I found a poem by H.S.Rice that helped me cope with that loss....
When I must leave you
For a little while
Please do not grieve
And shed wild tears
And hug your sorrow to you
Through the years,
But start bravely
With a gallant smile;
And for my sake
And in my name
Live on and do
All things the same,
Feed not your loneliness
On empty days,
But fill each waking hour
In useful ways,
Reach out your hand
In comfort and in cheer
And I in turn will comfort you
And hold you near;
And never, never
Be afraid to die
For I am waiting for you in the sky!

I didn't know James very long, but I'm so glad that that I he came into our lives. I remember the first time I met him, I hugged him. I think we'd all met up in front of a restaurant in our Alexandria neighbourhood. And I said something to the effect: I hug everybody, I hope you don't mind. But when you met James - you wanted to hug him.

The man could wear jewelry! I couldn't take him anywhere without the ladies (usually sales ladies) oohing and ahhing over his necklaces! I'm not sure I'll find another man who can pull off necklaces the way that he could...
I'll see if I can find photos of him wearing these necklaces. (He's wearing one in his profile pic...)

January of 2015 -- James and I joined our good friend Jeff Guillory on a vacation of a lifetime! Two weeks in Japan enjoying some FANTASTIC snow and then touring through Tokyo and Kyoto. Lots of fun stories from that trip -- finding little quirky bars in Niseko (include a few not-child-friendly bars) to searching for the raman "mothership" in Tokyo! I'm so thankful that we got to take this trip together...
