Joe's Story

By Marianne Scully

Joseph Leo Scully was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 1st 1940 to Anthony Leo Scully and Mary Emma ( Marie ) Clinton. Joe was the 6th of 8 children. He had 3 sisters and 4 brothers . Mary, John, Betty, Jimmy, Tony, Tommy & Theresa.

Growing up Joe attended Most Blessed Sacrament Grade School and West Catholic High School. Joe excelled in football and fun. He was also a good student. When Joe was 3 yrs old tragedy struck his family. His  young Dad Anthony passed. This left a large void in Joe's  life. As he grew up he worked helping his eldest brother John in the family Hardwood Floor Company to help support  his large family.

Along the way Joe developed a larger than life personality. He was the type of person you would remember forever in a good way. This served him well in life. He eventually went off to college where he met the Love of His Life and Soul Mate Miss Linda Lou Kinnaird of Kentucky. He could not resist her southern charm. They were married on July 4th 1968 and enjoyed the next 48 yrs together. There could not have been a more perfect match. Her family became his and her father James became a wonderful Father figure to Joe to replace the Dad he never got to know.

Life was good !  After college Joe tried several careers eventually enjoying a very long ,successful career in Real Estate. Joe and Linda  traveled a lot and  had many friends and family connections with  stories & memories to last several lifetimes.

To those of us that knew him . He was a Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Boss, Friend, Great Story Teller, Comedian,  and Prankster. His legend will live on in our hearts and lives. His stories for generations and he will be Forever Missed !
