Edward "Eddie" William Pelly

PELLY, Edward William "Eddie", 76, of Beech Hill, Antigonish Co. died on Sunday June 12, 2016, at home surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Guysborough, he was a son of the late Ruben and Bertha (Brody) Pelly.

Eddie worked with Pete Poirier and from there worked at St.Francis Xavier University for several years. He worked at Bethany in Antigonish for 35 years. Eddie enjoyed working in his garden and was known for keeping a well-manicured lawn.  He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and singing and playing guitar for his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Melena (Morell), children, Brenda, Antigonish; Blair, Regina, Sask; Crystal (Mike) O'Keefe, Halifax; Nelson, Antigonish; step-children: Ricky (Marlene), Antigonish; Kevin (Tammy), Port Hawkesbury; Michelle (Trent) Belyea, Halifax; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and sister, Gladys Pelly, Antigonish.

Predeceased by daughter Veronica and son William "Billy".

Visitation will be in C.L.Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 11 am in St. Ninian Cathedral, Reverend Donald MacGillivray presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date.
