LifeStory

Cedric Kendal Barber

In Loving Memory

We celebrate the life and memory of

Cedric Kendal Barber.

Cedric was born in Maywood, IL on October 13, 1984. He graduated from St. Paul Lutheran in Melrose Park and Proviso East in Maywood.

Throughout his life, Cedric had a chance to travel different parts of the world, work numerous jobs, and connect with people from all walks of life. A truly unique individual, Cedric had a mantra - he thumped his chest and called himself a “Warrior.” Considering his triumphs and challenges, we know that to be very true.

Cedric -- Outspoken, dynamic, loyal, courageous. A big guy, bold and boisterous, with a kind heart.

Cedric was outgoing, detailed and a lifelong learner. Of course, he could be wild. He had the ability to do whatever he wanted and he made an impact on many people. You could always count on him to help out, whether it was helping a friend move or delivering fresh water to the people in Flint, Michigan.

Cedric is survived by his mother and father, and three sisters. He also leaves behind a host of family and close friends who played very important roles in his life.

Cedric was a significant, at times dramatic and impactful part of our lives, and for us as friends and family, we know that Cedric meant a lot to us and we feel sad at his passing. His many, many longtime friends, far and wide, know he was a “cool dude.” Cedric will be missed by all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Ced.

I went to high school with Cedric and he was so intelligent and funny. We ended up crossing paths years after graduating only to find out that we were on similar spiritual journeys in an awakening of higher consciousness. We exchanged numbers and would have phone conversations from time to time. I am deeply saddened by his loss because I knew how special he was and there are very few like him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends but his spirit most certainly lives on.❤
