Following high school Martha attended the University of Idaho and graduated with honors in 1998 with degrees in both Finance and Accounting.Prior to her graduation Martha began her career as an accounting intern at Albertson’s Corporate Offices in Boise, Idaho where she was hired as an Internal Auditor upon graduation. During her internship she met another accountant, Brett Armitage. Martha and Brett were married on August 9, 2003 at St. Thomas Church in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho and moved to Coeur d’ Alene to begin a family in July of 2004. Their prayers were answered with the birth of their first in in 2007, followed by a second in 2009 and their final child in 20011. Her children were the greatest joy in her life.Martha had a natural curiosity and passion for experiencing life to the fullest. She enjoyed exploring new places, foods and meeting people from different backgrounds along the way. Her greatest passions were food, books, music, movies, education, friends and most importantly, family. She was a voracious reader and read everything from romance novels to the classics including her favorite book, Wuthering Heights. She loved all types of music but in particular, Pearl Jam, who her and Brett saw together on one of their first dates and saw every show in the Northwest thereafter. She never missed a chance to see a movie with her family and really enjoyed comedies, super hero and romance, her favorite being the classic Sabrina. While she was proud of becoming a US Citizen, she was equally proud of her Mexican heritage and always included its traditions and culture in everything she did. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was the most happy sharing a great meal, a Guinness and a laugh with friends and family. She was always the first to lend an ear for those who needed to talk, give open and honest advice to those who asked and unconditional support to whoever needed it.
