We met in 1989 when I moved into the same apartment building on the UWS. I moved with my then husband and infant into apt. 5A. He lived in apt. 6A and had the same first and last name as my husband ( confusing, yes?) . He was a retired heavy metal rock star about to get married again, who had 80's hair and told memorizing stories. We all became friends-- the four of us went to dinner ( they didn't think we liked them--- I hated the restaurant), I was his daughter' first babysitter (nice neighbor). A chance meeting in the elevator late Spring 2003 ( the exact same time Twisted Sister started playing/ touring again) -- we learn that our spouses moved out. That was the beginning... of the complex duplex, countless TS shows ( people still dress that way???) trips, morning coffee, current events, establishing our own family traditions and friendships-- basically combining lives... slowly. So after many years, we eloped. And yes, it is different, deeper and we still laugh and smile everyday.
