Robert Richard Tollen

His flourishing 69 years

By Julie Tollen

Robert Richard Tollen passed away in his sleep, February 1, 2017. Due to his previously made plans, he was sent to Michigan to be placed in a cryogenic tank. Robert was born in Philedelphia where he lived with his mom, Nancy Levinson, dad, Meyer Tollen, and sister Carole. In Roberts adolescence, he lost his father. As an adult, he started a business in sales, and married Kayla Lubar. Together they raised their 2 children, Rebecca and Meyer. Shortly after his kids grew older, he and Kayla moved to Key West (where they spent their later years). Nancy, who lives close to the Tollens,  lives in Ft. Laterdale. Before moving to their Key West condo, Robert became ill with numerous conditions. Therefore, his wife gracefully took over his business, which is now known as Kayla Advertising. Robert then started a support blog about his illnesses, share his expirences, inform others on new treatment options, etc. On that website alone, he personally touched thousands of lives all around the world-- all from his green reclining chair at home. In his  last years of life, he frequently saw his children, Rebecca and Meyer, as well as his grandchildren, Julie, Isabella, Leo, and also Nancy, his mom. Robert never let his sicknesses  take away his positivity;  He frequently did daily excursions to stay as healthy as possible. He had a bouncing sense of humor, and a smile as pure as a millionaires, (even when he had to go to the  hospital). People know him globally for  his kind and respectful deeds, (as even thru his laughter, he enforced maturity, which is hard for some). Roberts family is still grieving his loss. Please be respectful to them, in their times of adversity. Near his time of death, he had suffered with a severe flu like virus, and his family is greatful his suffering has ended. In just 69 years, he filled his croc flip flops with the biggest, most respected shoes, that I can only dream of attempting. He is now in a better place and will forever rest in peace. His family will be having a private memorial service, at the time of another religious service for one of his other family members. So far, Robert has been honored in Florida newspapers, Facebook, etc. His family will always miss him severly, but remember him as the extraordinary man he was. Rest in peace, Robert Richard Tollen.
