What's the most significant lesson mom taught you?
That people's stories matter. I have two other sisters. My mom read to us every night. In doing this, she taught me to listen and consider other points of view. We talked about what was interesting, funny, and sad. She encouraged me to tell my own stories and follow my gut instincts.
