Rebecca,

Thank you, with continued gratitude, for your inspiration for each of us to challenge the first interpretation of any set of "findings" that were possibly to quickly perceived as facts. Thank you for fostering a learning environment in which you helped us continually raise our own expectations and frequently exceed them. Most of all, thank you for being an advocate for each of us to meet our needs while at the same time being completely authentic with how you perceived the world and how a person should to navigate through academics, and life. BRAVA! I wish you the best that life has to offer as you leap into your next adventure!

Brava again!

Thank you for your amazing support when I launched my book (and Val too, of course!). It was a special evening and people still talk about it as being such a unique event--made me feel special. And, quite honestly, that is how you make people feel...I hope you feel as special as you make others feel. God Bless! JB

Rebecca, I look back at my years at St. Kate's in the MAOL program, with gratitude and admiration for your gracious and gallant leadership as a role model, mentor and teacher. Your encouragement and wisdom provided inspiration for my final MAOL project on "the challenges women leaders face while navigating life's transitions."
All the best to you and the journey ahead,

Dear Rebecca, my wish for your retirement is that you continue to explore all the things that make you the wonderful leader and role model you are and have been for so many of us at St. Kates over the years. Allow your curiosity, compassion, rigor, and that lovely sense of fun and balance you seem to maintain despite obstacles put in your path, to lead you into your "Act 3". My wish is that you get to broaden your focus and dig into what makes you feel most alive. You are an inspiring leader, and I thank you for the belief and support you have shown me in my St. Kates journey.
With love and best wishes,
Debby Magnuson

What is the most important thing you have learned from Rebecca about leadership?

Sharon Radd
Rebecca,
You are my #1 Role Model when it comes to thinking about leadership. In every interaction, you show compassion and warmth while at the same time you demonstrate and expect high standards.

Your leadership has shaped the program in both tactical and relational ways, and I'm extremely proud to be a part of such a great endeavor. Further, I am a much better leader and teacher because of these four years I have had working with and for you. I will always be grateful for this time and opportunity with you, and will do my very best to continue to build on your legacy.

With much love and admiration,
Sharon

That it is, at its most authentic point, something that grows from within. Not in any kind of vacuum, and the growth has to be nurtured with ideas and ethics and a sense of place - not a geographical place, but our own place within the community or the company or the university we serve.

What are you grateful for in relation to Rebecca's leadership of MAOL program and service to St. Kate's?

Kathleen Cummings
Rebecca you were and are the essence of the true ethics of our research projects. You held the understanding of what so many of us strived to understand in the process. You kept working with me and helped me to synthesize my research project and keep it meaningful.
I was so happy when you branched off for your trips to S Africa and to find out you were collaborating with Spiwo!!! and Zethu
Also your fierce drive to get Fairview back to support the mini ST Kate's leadership certificate program!
It has been and honor and pleasure to have known you Rebecca! I so hope our paths cross and Blessings Always, Kate

The MAOL program under Rebecca's leadership is a combination of openness, acceptance of diversity, and high expectations. What we learned was not just what was found between the covers of the books we read, or in the lectures we listened to, but also in how we could apply what was being taught to develop our own leadership, to find our own approach and develop what we have to offer, and to grow as individuals and as leaders while doing so. For me, and, I think, for most of us, the MAOL program was memorable, seminal and a turning point, a place where we learned what we can do and be and what we have to offer to others.

The only thing more valuable than that is the work that our alumni have accomplished in their time since the program. Best wishes to you, Rebecca!

What is your favorite memory of Rebecca?

Kathleen Cummings
As Robyn (Bushinski) and I were trying to "manage" our research project together you might say we had many thoughts and ideas. So So many that one Saturday they filled the board in the library. Rebecca you happen to wander through the library that particular morning and you became quite invested in our many words and ideas written ALL over. Yours was a kind suggestion that we were going to need to narrow our project and be clear in what we were researching. Your calm and kind words were helpful however you stopped and gave us suggestions at a time we never even had scheduled with you. THANK YOU for not running out or quietly backing out pretending never to have seen us:) Sincerely, Kate

I have several great memories of meeting one on one with Rebecca to work on my project. I always felt supported and left these meetings feeling energized, positive and confident.
