My favorite memory of my mother is...

... is shopping at Willowbrook. Anyone who knows me, knows I am not a shopper and I hate ‘the mall’. I never liked it. But, as a young girl, I would often find myself on shopping sprees with my mother. Whether it was back to school shopping, Christmas shopping, or just a run of the mill “let’s go to the mall” trip, I, more often than not, went with her. I was crabby and wanting to go home within a relatively short time. To make the task at hand tolerable and fun, my mom (who DOES NOT sing well) would make up little jingles and sing to me. My all-time favorite tune was “We always run, we never walk, we’re always in a hurry”, while holding my hand and running from store to store. It worked every time…..I would start to laugh, and still laugh today at the thought of it. Thanks, Mom, for the memory!
