Edward A. Rothschild, 89, of Summit, New Jersey, passed on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Overlook Hospital.

Edward was born on December 31, 1928 in Decatur, IL. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert and Ida (née Salefski) Rothschild. In his earlier years, he enjoyed skiing and also had his pilot’s license. Ed was a graduate of Valparaiso University with a degree in Business Administration. He and his family lived in Chicago, IL before settling in Summit, NJ.

Ed worked as a manager for Skil Power Tools, New York, NY for over 40 years. After retirement, he worked part-time for Summit Hardware for several years. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching old movies and being surrounded by his loved cats and dogs.

Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Catherine Rothschild. He was the loving father of daughter, Donna Vickery M.D., son-in-law Paul Vickery, and his son, Edward D. Rothschild. He was the cherished grandfather of Ian E. Vickery and Claire C. Vickery. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Maczuga and sister-in-law Ann Rothschild. He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Donald, Herbert and James Rothschild.

Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bradley Brough & Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Ave. Summit. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
