Who were some of Harold's closest friends? Have photos?
Other than his kids, Cliff was a huge part of his life. His brothers from the club, his dogs, visits with Timothy Nolan and/or anyone he just met. He enjoyed everyone's company.
What did Harold love?
He loved working on cars, A day could not go by without him putting his hand under the hood of a car.
The sun, a cold beer and company would always brighten his day. He had stories to tell!!!
What were Harold's favorite TV shows, movies, books or music?
My father loved western movies his favorite was Bonanza,
John Wayne movies. Knew them word for word. Music was always old school country (some of the best, I still listen to)
Who were some famous people who Harold met?
My father met Hank Williams Jr and Chuck Norris, My father took me to Hank Williams Jr house once I remember that day well.
He met a lot of unsung heros (should be celebrities) when he worked on vehicles for the police departments.
What were Harold's favorite jobs?
he loved driving semi and rebuilding old trucks.
He enjoyed working on cars. I'll never forget when he painted an old (1972?) Chevy Nova with one of my mom's table doillies. I thought I would own that car one day. Awesome paint job that reqired a steady hand and lots of patience!
What did Harold dislike?
Conflict. He just wanted everyone to relax and enjoy but if push came to shove, he would take the challenge. Much like I am today.
What are your best memories of time together?
Holding his pinky finger when I crossed the road as a child in Cassadaga. Riding in the semi for the first time. Buying him cowboy boots with gold tips and spurs for father's day. Listening to country music with him. Sitting in the sun with him. His super white skinny legs in shorts.
Did Harold have a favorite phrase or common mannerism?
I am proud of you. Hang in there and why the hell did you do that Goofy.
What will you miss most about Harold?
I will miss not sitting next to him on a nice sunny day sharing a drink and listening to his stories. I will also miss not saying "love you daddy-o!!" i will miss being called goofy and him picking at me until I laugh.
How would Harold most want to be remembered?
Lighthearted. Live simple and put your effort and quality into the people that surroynd you. Never give up!
