Dixie Lee King

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and trusted friend.

Dixie King, 80, was born in Quantico, Virginia, the eldest of three children born to Capt. Michael and Erma Hardick. Following graduation from high school in Carlsbad, she met and married her sweetheart Lawrence King and the two made their home in Southern California. Dixie was a home maker and loved to participate in many church activities, she always volunteered to help others. Dixie was dearly loved by her family and many friends, and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her two children, Julie (Chuck) Turner, and Paul (Kathleen) King; eight grandchildren, Calvin (Sheryl) Azzola, Breanna (Ben) King and Cameron King, and Alesha, Brian and Eric Turner; and three great-grandchildren, Bennett King, Angelo and Sharon Azzola.  A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at Fletcher Hills Presbyterian Church, 455 Church Way, El Cajon, CA 92020, on Friday, June 2, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Larry's memory to a  charity of your choice.
