CommentsMy Uncle Jerry was thoughtful and kind in a variety of ways. Indeed among him and his 2 brothers he is the only one who never caused me any discomfort or embarrassment, whatsoever. An example: while I was still technically on my honeymoon, I bought my first car from him. It was a stick shift and my bride was not initiated in the mysteries, thereof. Realizing that I might well slaughter my lady, in the blazing heat of that June day, should I try to teach her how to drive the thing, he took us down to the Short Hills Mall parking lot. On a Sunday afternoon, in those days no stores were open and there was little chance of getting into trouble. He gave her lessons on hand, eye, and foot co-ordination and off we went. She mastered it easily. We all came out of it calm and happy which we might not have done had he not been so thoughtful.
