Chris came to Copenhagen in the winter of 1993 to study at the DIS programme. We were his host family and he lived with us for a semester. This was the beginning of a very special friendship. Chris was a very bright student, lively, if temperamental and very affectionate. We all very quickly got attached to him. When he left in early summer we were all very sad to see him leave but luckily our friendship lasted and Chris did more than his fair share to make this happen. He returned to Denmark one time after his stay and that was to attend our 25th wedding anniversary. We will never forget this gesture. - Over the years we were able to meet in the US, last time being in May, 2017 where Chris was already marked by his illness. We spent a memorable day together and his family did everything they could to make the day special for Chris. We loved him and are extremely sad to see him go. His photo is on our wall next to photos of our sons. Our thoughts go to his family: Anne, Alex, Kirsten, Caroline, Perry and Joanne.
