LifeStory

Shirley I Dow Brown

By Doreen Potter

It is with sadness that we share the passing of our mother, Shirley, after a battle with cancer.

Shirley was a co-owner of R&S Engines with her husband before retiring and moving to Tennessee. Throughout her life she was an avid reader and enjoyed all types of needle crafts including cross stitch, crochet, knitting, lace, sewing, and quilting. Later in life she picked up the art of making beautiful porcelain dolls.  She was also an excellent cook never needing to follow a recipe.

Shirley is the daughter of Frank Dow and Thelma Atwood Dow.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years A. Roland Brown.

Shirley has four daughters: Doreen Potter and Husband David Potter Sr. of Webster, NH; Vickie Robbins of Port Orange, FL; Karen Horne of Penacook, NH; Susan Horne of Lewisburg, TN.

Her siblings are: Marian Lucas of Canterbury, NH; Francis Dow of Canterbury, NH; Aletha Trottier of Franklin, NH; Dale Hall of Loudon, NH.

She has nine grandchildren: Chrystal, David, Tiffany, Derrick, Deanna, Jessica, Vicki-Sue, Douglas, and Savannah.

She has 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Burial is at New Hampton Village Cemetery, New Hampton, NH on November 11, 2018 at 11:00am.
