I would like to extend my condolences to your family. Pavel was clearly a good, kind and loving man that will be greatly missed by those in his life. It is obvious he lived a life filled with love. May you take comfort in the Bible's promise at Revelations 21:4 that there will come a day when, God "will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more". When that time comes, sad times such as these will be a thing of the past.

Pavel's passing is such a loss to his family, his community and the scientific community! His looks really hadn't changed much from when I first met him 36 years ago! Soon after he moved to the US he told me he just LOVED the the French National anthem, the Marseillaise, and then he asked me, a French teacher, if I could get him a copy of it. That is not often the kind of music a teenage boy would love, so that was another little way he showed how special he was.
