When I was a freshman in college far away from home, I called my Mom to tell her I wanted to leave and go to a different school. I asked her advice - she said, "You are 18 years old. You get to make your own decisions. I cut the apron strings." At the time I knew she was right. I have been able to own my journey - the good and the bad - ever since. And she has been my best and favorite go-to friend through all of it.
