God bless her, I had a great mom who dished out a lot of well-meaning but misguided advice - like the time in 8th grade (1969) when she thought it would be a great idea for my sisters and me to sing "I like New York In June" in the school talent show. This, at a time when the Beatles and the Stones were the stuff us young folk were listening too. Thankfully, we submitted our "act" a day too late and didn't make the cut. We dodged that Napolean Dynamite bullet, but Mama's enthusiasm for our questionable talent was super cool. I miss her crazy advice every day! She loved us unconditionally, and thought we were amazing (we weren't).
