Dorothy Midwinter

Dorothy M. Midwinter, 91, of West Orange, New Jersey, passed away on March 4, 2019. Born in Brooklyn, New York on November 10, 1927 to Leslie and Grace Finlay, Dorothy was raised in Richmond Hill, Queens, New York. She married her husband Raymond on April 24, 1954, and raised 5 children. Dorothy had a talent for knitting, and was well known for the beautiful Christmas stockings she made for all immediate and extended family, as well as countless friends.


Dorothy was the devoted wife of the late Raymond; loving mother of the late Timothy, Gregory, Nancy, John, Drew and daughter in-laws Lorraine, Linda, Donna, and Maritess; beloved grandma and Nana of Aly and her husband Dan, Kayli, Lisa and her husband Andrew, Hannah and her husband Roger, Taryn, Samantha, Cara, the late Daniel and the late Maddie; dear GG of Jackson, Judah, Emmi and Noah. Dorothy was predeceased by her sister, Grace Warner.


A committal service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 1pm, at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, in Calverton, New York. Those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Dorothy may do so, to the Timothy J.
