Eleanore Ryder

“Lovingly known as Honey, Mom, Nana and Miss Eleanore.”

Eleanore G. Ryder, 92, of Pompton Plains, formerly of Berkeley Heights,  peacefully passed away on April 3, 2019.

Born in West Haven, Connecticut, Eleanore later moved to Irvington, New Jersey, where she met and married the love of her life, Kenneth P. Ryder, in 1947. They moved to Berkeley Heights, where she raised their two children, and opened the Eleanore Ryder School of Dance.

Predeceased by her husband Kenneth and her grandson Christopher James McConville; Eleanore is survived by her children Jennifer McConville and her husband Tim and Chris Ryder; and grandchildren Michael and Ryan McConville, and Madeline, Kenny and Timmy Ryder.

A Celebration of Life Mass will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 10am at Church of the Little Flower, 290 Plainfield Avenue in Berkeley Heights. The visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8pm at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street in Chatham. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Eleanore may be made to  www.bostonchildrens.org/robertsprogramgiving  .
