What's the best piece of advice your mom ever gave you?

After my father died, my sister and were 5 and 2, my mom went back to school to get her degree in Psychology so that she could get a better paying job and be able to send us both to college. Something that was important to both my father and her. She told me, "I sat in these classes, miserable, thinking I didn't want to be here. I wanted to be home, in bed, under the covers. But sometimes in life you don't get to crawl under the covers and die." I think of that all the time when I'm struggling with something in my life...Things may stink now but you have to push through it and see the bigger picture. My mom is one tough cookie. We wouldn't be where we are today if she had stayed under the covers.
