Jeffrey Zeikel

Jeffrey Scott Zeikel, of Maplewood, NJ, passed away Monday, May 20th.


Jeff was born in Rahway, NJ on April 28, 1962. Jeff grew up in Westfield, NJ and attended Westfield High School where he enjoyed playing football, lacrosse and swimming, graduating in 1980. He went on to study at St Lawrence University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & Government. He was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Jeff later earned his MBA in International Finance from George Washington University.


Jeff worked for most of his career at Merrill Lynch in New York in various roles. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed his memberships at both the Westfield Tennis Club and the Morristown Field Club.


Jeff had a quick wit and fun-loving personality. He loved old movies and the Three Stooges, perfecting a Curly impression that would make everyone laugh. He loved music, especially The Rolling Stones and enjoyed attending concerts whenever he could. He volunteered his time at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, NJ for many years. He also loved the beach and enjoyed fishing and would travel to various beaches every year.


Jeff is survived by his wife, Chandra Whitt Zeikel. His children from his first marriage, Katie, Kelsey, Lindsey, Matthew and their mother, Christine Mazuryk Zeikel. Parents Arthur & Terrie Zeikel, sisters Jill Zeikel & Judy Stavis, brother-in-law Jonathan Stavis and nieces & nephew Minnie, Nick and Callie.


A celebration of life service will be Thursday, May 30th at 1pm at Bradley Brough & Dangler Funeral Home located at 299 Morris Ave, Summit, NJ 07901.


In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Jersey Shore chapter of the Surfrider Foundation.
