LifeStory

Henry Lee Nance

When it comes to my dad's life story.... Well there's always a beginning, middle and end. He didn't like his life being public so this won't be to long. He was raised in Sam's Valley Oregon, he was the only child. He married my mom (Janet Nance) and had two daughters me and my sister Anna. My dad was a good dad. He got diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver about 10 years ago. Sense he was a private man that's all I'm going to say about his life. If you knew him then you understand. So with every good story there is always a end.....

May 29th, 2019 was one of the worst days I've had in my life, My dad passed away at 2:56 p.m. it happened so unexpectedly..... I was contacted by my dad's girlfriend's sister. a lady I've never met. she messaged me on Facebook telling me I needed to get a hold of her because my dad wasn't doing well at all and that he probably wouldn't make it through the night. She gave me the number to get a hold of my Dad's girlfriend since my dad was no longer responsive.....

I asked if I could speak to him, at which point I was told that's he wouldn't be able to respond to me. but they always say if they can still hear you.... his girlfriend put the phone up to my dad's ear so that he could hear me. his breathing was extremely labored and we were both scared that he wasn't able to hear me due to how hard it was for him to breathe.  his girlfriend called hospice and have them go over and give him oxygen. his breathing became normal.

his girlfriend called me back at that point so I could talk to my dad again. We Believe with his breathing normal in him not in such distress so you'd be able to hear me even though he would be unresponsive. I told my dad how much I love him and how sorry I was for not being there with him. I heard him try to speak so I kept talking to him. his girlfriend told me that he was trying to form words when I was talking to him. my last conversation with my dad was at 2:36 p.m. he passed at 2:56 p.m. May 29th, 2019
