Anne Marie Genninger

Anne Marie was born September 12, 1951 in Union, New Jersey. She lived her entire life in the home where she was raised. She was a parishioner of Saint Michael’s as a child, then became a member of Saint James the Apostle Church in Springfield. Anne Marie was a graduate of Kean College and began teaching at St. Michael’s School in Union during the 1970’s. At Saint James, Anne Marie was a Lector, member of the choir and coordinated the Prayer Line for the sick. She was also a catechist for over forty years. Anne Marie was a woman of strong faith and dedicated herself to the Lord by professing her life as a 3rd Order, Dominican Sister where she became known as Sister Mary Therese. She was received into the Order on May 18th 1975 and Professed on December 18th, 1977.


Anne Marie was an avid reader and animal lover. She was the beloved friend of Al Jacobus and a friend to many.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019 from 9:30-11:30 am at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 South Springfield Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at noon in the church. Cremation will be private.  An inurnment will be scheduled at a later date.
