What objects most remind you of Irene? Have a photo?

Buttons :) she collected them from people whose houses she cleared out when she was doing that. One time we made art out of them by sewing them into blank canvases.
I feel like there could be a gallery of photos of Irene coming back from farmers markets with her basket overflowing with produce and foliage. ๐Ÿ’š

I smile when I remember Ireneโ€™s devotion to the mother duck and ducklings that hatched on her roof a few years back. She protected them, brought them basins of water and we watched the ducklings learn to swim. We would bike to the Wild Bird Fund for duck food and advice. She cared for them all several times a day until they fell or flew. She told lots of stories about the variety of birds nesting on her rooftop trees โ€” mockingbirds, kestrels and more.
While I do celebrate the wonder of Ireneโ€™s life, I am heartbroken.
