Sushi Sanat Parikh passed away peacefully on June 19, 2021 at her home surrounded by her daughters.

Sushi was born in Ahmedabad, India on November 24, 1933. She graduated from B. D. Arts College with a Bachelor’s degree in History and Philosophy.

Sushi immigrated to the United States in November 1963 and landed in snowy Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After one year, she and her husband, Sanat Parikh, moved to North Olmsted, Ohio where they made a life for themselves and their two daughters, Nina and Amie. Later in life she moved to New York City. Sushi was a devoted wife and loving mother.

Sushi immensely enjoyed cooking, traveling, discussing religious philosophy, engaging with and finding great joy in the people who came into her life, and participating in religious traditions and spiritual activities.

Sushi is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Sanat Parikh, father and mother, Shakra and Hira Marfatia, brother Gordhandas Marfatia, and sisters, Jyostna (Kanaiyalal) Bodiwala, and Padma Marfatia.  She is survived by her daughters Nina and Amie (Dan), and sister-in-law Suman Marfatia.  She will be sorely missed by family and friends.
