LifeStory

Susan Silverman

By Richard Silverman

Susan had a long and distinguished career as a civil servant, but her interests. were deep and varied. She loved English literature, interior design, architecture, music, and film. She had an infectious love of life that made any social occasion a special event.  To her family, friends and neighbors, her loss is immeasurable.

We will honor her this coming Wednesday at Green-Wood Cemetery. Thank you for all your condolences and kind thoughts. They mean a great deal to me.

I will miss Susan. I get nostalgic thinking about all the stories I heard about the daily drama at New York State dept of disability at the old World Trade Center and William street .Richard and I can spend time together talking about it, in the future. We will miss Susan when we walk in the Botanical gardens.
Sincerely, Laban Levine

Susan's passing is a sad loss indeed for folks like us who were her neighbors in South Midwood. She was a lovely woman and a kind and wonderful neighbor. From her welcoming smile and the warmth of her conversation to the dashing way she had of dressing, everything about Susan gave you a lift. Our sympathy is with all who must get used to life without Susan.

Our heartfelt condolences to Richard and all of Susan's loved ones.

As the oldest of three siblings, Susan was our lead explorer in life, laying a family foundation which can create both a blessing and challenge simultaneously. Getting together for dinners were events she greatly treasured. Her many varied interests noted above always generated thoughtful conversations. Miss you already.
