John Henry Kapitzke of Santee, California passed away unexpectedly and went to be with the Lord at the age of 80 on July 14th 2016.  He was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on September 21st, 1935.  

John served in the United States Coast Guard and National Guard in the 1950s.  John worked in the food service industry and was the proprietor of Institutional Food Service Brokerage based in San Diego, California.  In recent years he worked for the San Diego Unified School District.

John is survived by his wife of 57 years Joan Marie Kapitzke of Santee, CA; by his children Beverly Navarro (San Diego, CA), Peter Kapitzke (Poway, CA), Connie Kapitzke-Mistretta (San Diego, CA), Sallie Stahler (San Diego, CA), and John Paul Kapitzke (Chula Vista, CA); and by his seven grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother Gerald Kapitzke of Appleton, Wisconsin.
