NICHOLS, GARLIN; of Waterford; Went home to be with the Lord August 23, 2016; at 85 years of age. Born April 12, 1931 in Rabun Co. GA. He will join his wife Donna (Smith); son Garlin G.; parents Alfred and Gatha (Bradshaw); brothers Uriel and R.C. and sisters Niota (Gibson) and Jewell (Carnes) in a heavenly homecoming. Garlin is survived by his daughters Cynthia (Daniel) Redpath and Deborah (James III) Hutchinson; grandchildren Nicole, Meagan and Andrew; great grandsons Matthew and Nicklas. Garlin loved reading his Bible and talking about his military service during the Korean War. He would fondly tell of how the Army took a country boy from the hills o’ Georgia and put him on ski patrol on Mt. Fuji. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Walton Boulevard Church ofGod . Pastor Dave Gerber officiating. Military Honors and Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly MI. Memorials may be made to the family.
