LifeStory

William Ray Lucas, Jr

By Stephanie Collett

Daddy had 15 grandchildren that he loved so very much. Chase, Cheyenne, Dakota, Journie, Kalie, Conner, Erica, Kenndal, Kylie, Luke, Zachery, Bri-Anna, Karina, Jersey and Nevaeh. Daddy lived life the way that he wanted to for a lot of years of his life. But, for the last few years he did a complete turn about. He began going to church. Brookhill Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. Shortly after that Daddy was baptized and he came before his church giving his whole life, body and soul publicly to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. These last few years his whole world revolved around Jesus. Wanting to learn more about Him and beginning a relationship with Jesus that absolutely no one could come between. Daddy's relationship with Jesus was so beautiful. To hear Daddy talk about Jesus was definitely something that us kids and his family was not used to hearing. But, to hear daddy talk about Jesus was breath taking. Daddy's want and yearning to know more was awesome. Daddy took good care of Mama. He was a wonderful and loving father. He loved Mama, his kids and his grand kids. And, he loved Jesus oh so much. His last few hours of life he talked about Jesus. How he knew that Jesus had him. Daddy had a constant smile on his face the whole day and night. Something that daddy didn't do as often as he did this night. He and Mama had come down from home which was San Antonio to be with his first and last daughters... Stephanie and Samantha. He was staying with Samantha, her husband Larry and their 4 girls. Samantha and Larry had just bought he and our mother a car so that way daddy to start going with our mom to her doctors' appointments. Also, so they could get out and get around more. Daddy had made plans to drive back down here with Mama, Dustin and Bubba so we could all be together as a family for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Shortly after we said our good nights, see you in the mornings and our last "I love you's" daddy got up to go to the restroom and made it just that far in Samantha's home when Jesus came to take Daddy Home to be with Him. We love you Daddy. We miss you oh so much. The pain that we are feeling is so unbearable. Your legacy will live on through us daddy. You have so many people who love you. Because of the change in you Daddy and your love for Jesus you helped others around you to turn their lives over to Jesus. Your life story helped others to change their lives. Daddy, you were and still are an inspiration to so many people. We love you Daddy. There isn't going to be a day that goes by that we won't miss or need you. Jesus has a good man now. You where and are now His true solider. Are you singing in the angels choir up there daddy? Are you waiting at the Gates of Heaven for us when it is our time to come Home? We know that you are smiling so big. Like the day you were in the car that Samantha and Larry just bought for you and our mother. We know that you are in no more pain. We just miss and love you oh so very much. You also left behind your younger brothers and sister. Wesley, Pamela and Gary. You also left behind many many nephews and nieces. You left behind so many family members who love and miss you oh so very much as well. They are all having a hard time with this because you left to go out of town to visit your daughters and your not returning. They love you so much daddy. They didn't get to see you before you left. And, now you're never coming back. Please ask Jesus to give them some piece and comfort. You will be greatly missed and loved so much forever daddy. Rest in piece with our Lord Jesus William Ray Lucas, Jr.
