Sandra Turner
Mom with Pam, Kelly and Katie. Now whose wedding was this? Pat or Ryan's?

I met Irene through my aunt, who was a friend of hers. No one would be surprised that she became a friend of our family as a result. People were drawn to her--so easy to understand. I remember so many fun and funny times with her at events, parties and on trips. I think that, of her many outstanding qualities, her joyfulness and grand sense of humor were two of my favorites. I loved her stories, often laughing til I cried. I think this memory of about 30 years ago personifies who Irene was. We were organizing the family party for our son's fifth birthday, and the one person he wanted me to be sure to invite was Irene. I told him she might be busy, but he was insistent. So I invited her, and, of course, she came. My son was delighted, and still speaks fondly of her.

Our dearest Irene who was much loved by me and my family. She is greatly missed and thought of often with fondness for her joyous spirit and selfless disposition. Irene always thought of others, was perpetually pleasant, and had a contagious laugh. Irene always smiled in such a way as to make everyone feel at ease. We loved to hear her stories of her family or the beauty shop. Irene was truly a genuinely authentic person with spirited spontaneity that will be cherished and remembered always. Thank you Irene for being you and thank you Turner family for your mother, who truly was a mother to many. Her beautiful character is alive in her family, who she talked of often with great pride and happiness. Thank you Sandy for your friendship, which I treasure. Thank you Tami for your unending care of Irene. Our prayers are with you all. God bless Irene and all your family.

My grandma was an amazing, perpetually optimistic woman who said things like, "Jimminy Crickets!" and "eat your veggies." I hold dearly to these and my other memories and try to do what she would- smile.

Will always remember Grandma Irene doing my hair and helping my mom with dishes at Thanksgiving. Lots of love to the Turner family. Hope to see you all soon!
