Allison Elizabeth Hood
Allison Elizabeth Hood, of Somerset, Tx. passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning February 25, 2020, with her loving family by her side, at the age of 64.
Allison was born on February 1, 1956 in Orange, California to William "Bill" and Jacqueline "Jackie" Gray. In her teenage years, her family relocated to the Texas Hill Country, with Allison graduating from Comfort High School before moving throughout the state and settling in Somerset to raise her family.
Allison loved animals, music, nature and helping others. Her selfless spirit led her to volunteer with a number of community groups in the Von Ormy & Somerset areas, including Jarret Volunteer Fire Department and Somerset ISD. Known for her compassionate and loving nature, Allison doted on her family, friends and animals.
Allison was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother Billy and sister Leslie Lynne. She is survived by her children, son Zachary (Carita) Westbrook of Dallas, daughters Robin Elizabeth of Austin and Raven Hood of California. Allison was a proud grandmother to granddaughters Astrid Westbrook and Haniyah Acosta. She is also survived by her sisters Christi (Tommy) Cole of Comfort and Julia Gray of Austin, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friday, February 28, 2020 at St. Mary’s Church . A green burial service will be held on Saturday, February 29 at noon at Eloise Woods Natural Burial Park, honoring Allison's love of nature and her wishes that her body be returned to the Earth to nourish new life and growth.
